Giving Back with Evie is a nonprofit organization focused on creating educational opportunities and helping individuals build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to move forward.

Our story

We all have something to give.

Founded in 2017, Giving Back with Evie began with a simple belief: we all have something to give, and even a small act of generosity can make a lasting difference. Our early work centered on direct community support in Nigeria, including the Back to School Project in Yangoji, FCT, which provided students with educational supplies, medical support, and tuition sponsorship.

That work shaped our understanding of what educational support can mean for individuals and communities. Today, Giving Back with Evie is building on that foundation with a clearer focus: education as a pathway to opportunity.

Our work now centers on developing and supporting educational initiatives that help people access learning opportunities, strengthen their skills, and reach their potential. Through programs, partnerships, resources, and community-based initiatives, we aim to make education more accessible and create meaningful opportunities for people at different stages of their educational journey.

While our story began in Nigeria, our vision continues to grow. We are building Giving Back with Evie into an organization that uses education to open doors, expand possibilities, and create lasting impact.

About the founder

Giving Back with Evie was founded by Evidence Otunji.

In 2017, Evie began Giving Back with a simple conviction: we all have something to give, and even a small act of generosity can make a lasting difference. That belief first took shape through community support initiatives in Nigeria, including the Back to School Project in Yangoji, FCT, which provided students with educational supplies, medical support, and tuition sponsorship.

Through this work, Evie saw how access to education can influence not only a student’s immediate circumstances, but also their confidence, opportunities, and future. These experiences helped shape the direction of Giving Back with Evie and strengthened her commitment to education as a pathway to opportunity.

Today, Evie continues to lead the organization with a focus on creating educational opportunities and helping individuals build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to move forward. Her vision is to grow Giving Back with Evie into an organization that uses education to open doors, expand possibilities, and create lasting impact.
